Sonoma Valley is one of our favorite places to explore in Wine Country for family fun, and you'll find some fun fall events and activities taking place there this season. Here are our picks for family fun in Sonoma Valley that make a visit there this fall worthwhile!

• Larson Harvest Party

  Sunday, September 20, 11 am–2 pm
  Larson Family Winery celebrates the harvest with a grape stomp, pony rides, wagon tours of the vineyard, live music, barrel tastings, and food from Sonoma's Tri Tip Trolley. $45 adults, $20 kids (or under 21). More info
• Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival

  Saturday, September 26, 10 am–4 pm
  Celebrate the Sonoma grape harvest at the Vintage Festival, a local tradition since 1897. This cherished community event features the blessing of the grapes, a grape stomp, kids' activities, live music, food, wine tasting, and an artisan fair. More info
• Larson Family Winery Pumpkin Patch

  Family-friendly Larson Family Winery will again be offering a pumpkin patch at the winery. Pick a pumpkin and mom and dad can taste some award-winning organic wines. They also have games like bocce and corn hole and farm animals to visit. More info
• Pumpkin Day

  Saturday, October 3, 11 am–5 pm
  Visit Oak Hill Farm for their annual pumpkin harvest party! Enjoy music by Arann Harris and the Farm Band, apple cider pressing, and food, and watch as a huge pumpkin trebuchet hurls pumpkins through the air. The Red Barn Store will be open to shop for fruit, veggies, and flowers. Free. More info

• The Patch at Beltane Ranch (Pumpkins + Fall Festival)

  Bring the family for some wine country fall fun. Pumpkins, food, wine, farm animals to visit, ranch goods to shop, games and live music. Purchase tickets here. For all ages. More info.
• Campfire Costume Program
  Sonoma Barracks, 36 East Spain Street, Sonoma CA 95476
  Saturday, October 24, 6–7:30 pm
  Join Sonoma State Historic Park for some fun at their special spooky campfire program. Kids (and adults) are encouraged to come in costume. There will be a short talk, a spooky song, and a marshmallow roast. Enter through the wooden gates and proceed into the Sonoma Barracks Courtyard. For all ages, free admission. More info
• Canine Costume Contest

  The annual canine costume contest is back! Dress up your dog and join in for a chance to win a year-long Circle M Wine Club membership. More info
• Dia de los Muertos

  Saturday, November 1, 5:30–7 pm
  Celebrate this Mexican tradition with kids' activities, face painting, food, performances, and an altar lighting. Free, but donations appreciated. More info

You'll find plenty of other fun things to do in the wine country with the kiddos — take a ride at Sonoma TrainTown (and feed the animals), picnic and play in the plaza, and tour the mission and other historic sites to learn more about California history.
