A Festival of E-Bikes, Food & Fun!

Super Bicycle Festival

Marin Mommies presents a sponsored article from the The New Wheel and the Super Bicycle Festival.

Kick off May as Bike-To-Work month and celebrate all things e-bike at the first-ever Super Bicycle Festival, the San Francisco Bay Area's first electric bicycle festival! Super Bicycle takes place Saturday and Sunday, May 5 and 6, from 9 am to 4 pm each day at The New Wheel's Larkspur store located at 14 East Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.

Enjoy two days of food, craft beer, family cycling, workshops, speakers, and test drives of the latest e-bike models and categories; e-bikes not only enhance the bike-riding experience, but render a city as challenging and hilly as San Francisco as flat, friendly and fun to navigate as cities like Copenhagen or Amsterdam. Super Bicycle is aimed at all kinds of riders, especially those looking to ride more with additional comfort, control, ease and excitement. Admission is free but advance tickets are recommended.

Super Bicycle Festival

In addition to test drives of the latest and most popular e-bike models and categories including sports/mountain, cargo and urban commuter, Super Bicycle attendees will enjoy guided test rides, free waffles and coffee from Good Eggs Organic Delivery each morning from 9 am to 10 am, lunch prepared by local chefs available for purchase from noon to 1:30 pm each day, craft beverages—including beer, kombucha, coffee, and tea— for sale from the Marin County Bicycle Coalition (MCBC), family cycling workshops, commuter workshops, and guest speakers like Jim Elias, executive director of the MCBC, and Supervisor Damon Connolly. You can also get great deals on demo bikes and overstock accessories.

Super Bicycle was launched by local married entrepreneurs Brett Thurber and Karen Wiener of The New Wheel electric bikes to celebrate the technology, lifestyle, culture, and community of the growing electric bike revolution.

Super Bicycle Festival

Originally inspired by the widespread adoption of battery-powered electric bikes found throughout Europe and Asia, Bay Area natives Thurber and Wiener began selling e-bikes out of their San Francisco apartment in 2010. Now they own and manage two stores, in San Francisco's Bernal Heights and Larkspur in Marin County, which sell and maintain more e-bikes than any other retailer in the country.

This weekend-long celebration takes place at the New Wheel in Larkspur Landing at 14 East Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, just west of the Golden Gate Ferry Terminal. Admission is free but advance tickets are highly recommended. Get your tickets online here.
