The Lark Drive-In Returns: Outdoor Movies at the Village in Corte Madera

The Lark Drive-In

The Lark Drive-In is back! In response to COVID-19 movie theater closures, Marin's Lark Theater is once again partnering with the Village at Corte Madera shopping center to present the Lark Drive-In: Movies Under the Stars, a fun, safe, and affordable way for the public to enjoy blockbuster films outdoors.

Developed by the Lark’s Executive Director Ellie Mednick to help support the shuttered Lark Theater, the series begins on Thursday, March 18 and will run through November 2021. This spring, the following films are on the schedule:

  • Thursday, March 18: Star Wars
  • Friday, March 19: Airplane!
  • Saturday, March 20: Frozen
  • Thursday, March 25: Forrest Gump
  • Friday, March 26: Babe
  • Saturday, March 27: Ratatouille
  • Thursday, April 1: The 40 Year Old Virgin
  • Friday, April 2: Wall-E
  • Saturday, April 3: Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs
  • Thursday, April 8: Pretty Woman
  • Friday, April 9: Guardians Of The Galaxy
  • Saturday, April 10: The Sound Of Music

The Lark Drive-In can accommodate 100 or more cars and programming includes classic family fare, comedies, musicals, and more. Start time is 8:30 pm. Gates open an hour before showtime to purchase picnic dinners from the Village restaurants or concession items from the new tent concession stand.

The Lark Drive-In

We've attended screenings here and it's a lot of fun! Cars are parked by size so everyone has an optimal view, and you can tailgate if you want. Tune in to the movie soundtrack on your car stereo at FM 91.3, or listen along on your phone or tablet. All guidelines provided by Marin Health and Human services must be observed such as wearing masks if you leave your car to go to the portable toilets, which are cleaned by volunteers after each use.

Ticket prices are $30 per car, $25 for Lark Members, $15 for solo drivers, and $35 day of show. All tickets must be purchased in advance online, and shows usually sell out. Bring the kids, blankets, pillows, and snacks. Village restaurants will offer special meal deals for drive-in moviegoers. To purchase tickets, visit www.larktheater.net.
