Messy Art Fest Return to the Bay Area Discovery Museum This Weekend!

This weekend, August 3 and 4, 2019 from 10 am to 5 pm, the Bay Area Discovery Museum will once again transform itself into a blank canvas for its second-ever Messy Art Fest! You and your child aged 0 to 10 can create, paint, dance, break the rules and push the limits of arts and crafts and STEM activities at this weekend-long, creative family festival.

During the Messy Art Festival, there will be no rules and no clean up (the museum will take care of that)! Get messy and explore endless ways to have creative fun!

Messy Art Fest programs will include interactive activities like rainbow slime, spray bottle painting, scribble machines, sand art, a neon sculpture garden, a Mural Dance Party, and more. Programs take place throughout the day. In addition, there will be a musical performances by Juice and Jelly (Saturday) and Jimbo Trout (Sunday), as well as a messy yoga with It's Yoga, Kids.

Kids can also practice their sanding skills with outdoor woodworking or immerse themselves in freeform clay building in the museum's ceramic studio.

All Messy Art Fest programs are free after museum admission. There will be a member hour from 9 to 10 am on Saturday; general admission opens at 10 am. Outdoor programs are subject to cancellation in the event of rain.
