Roller Disco Daze Rolls onto Marin County Fairgrounds

Marin Mommies presents a sponsored article from the Marin Center in partnership with Church of 8 Wheels.

Lace up, Marin! This summer, the Marin County Fairgrounds transforms the Lagoon Island into a free outdoor roller rink. Presented by Marin Center in partnership with Church of 8 Wheels, Roller Disco Daze runs Wednesdays through Sundays, July 17 through August 16, and it's open to all ages and skill levels.

Admission is free. Skate rentals, including kids' sizes, are just $5, or bring your own quads or inlines. All skaters sign a waiver, and kids under 18 need a parent or guardian signature. When the kids need a break from skating, they can play lawn games, explore art installations by local artists, or snap a photo with the giant inflatable skate.

The rink is open Wednesday and Thursday from 12 to 8 pm and Friday through Sunday from 12 to 10 pm, with last entry 30 minutes before closing. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings bring themed skate nights with a live DJ, and the lineup is a blast: 70s Boogie Wonderland on opening night, Neon Nights, Barbiecore, a galaxy-themed costume night, and a Halloween-in-August finale with A Scary Good Skate Night. Costumes are encouraged but leave the floor-length capes and gowns at home for safety.

Opening night is Friday, July 17, so mark your calendars for a summer tradition in the making. Free parking is available in the Veterans' Memorial Auditorium lot at the Marin Center campus in San Rafael.

For hours, the full theme night schedule, and FAQs, visit the Roller Disco Daze page at marincenter.marincounty.gov.
