15 Fun Things to do With the Kids the Week of June 8

Here's our weekly list of 15 fun events and activities — some virtual, some not — for families to do online. From live animal cams and virtual moon exploration to art projects and cooking classes, there is something for everyone.

Keep in mind that some of these activities require advance registration, so check the organizer's website before you attend. If you have something fun you'd like to share, please let us know and we'll consider it for next week's list!

  1. Splash along the shore of Drakes Beach in Pt. Reyes.
  2. Don't miss coral babies, whale songs, and quarantine stargazing online with the Cal Academy.
  3. Experience music, mindfulness and yoga with Jocelyn at Wee Yogis. Monday–Thursdays, 10:30 am.
  4. Participate in a library summer reading program.
  5. Take a mom and baby yoga class online with Pomegranate in San Anselmo, Tuesday, 11 am.
  6. Make the ultimate summer tie dye shirt.
  7. Get fresh produce at one of the many Marin farmers markets happening this week.
  8. Bake a summer almond cake with strawberries.
  9. Find your favorite storytime at the Marin County Library YouTube channel.
  10. Learn about ocean science at home with the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
  11. Submit your creation in a weekly virtual competition from the Marin County Fair.
  12. Ride the pump track at Stafford Lake Bike Park, Novato.
  13. Gather the family for the Rock and Roll Playhouse live on Facebook, weekdays at noon; Saturday, 1 pm; and Sunday, 11 am.
  14. Join Larkspur Library online for "The Circus of Smile: Gravity Defying Circus Show" Thursday, June 11, 4 pm. Free but registration required.
  15. Hike and explore history at Olompali State Historic Park in Novato
