15 Fun Things to do With the Kids the Week of October 12–18

Here's our weekly list of 15 fun things to do with the kids this week, October 12–18. From pumpkin patches and Halloween crafts to family-friendy recipes and virtual science programs, there's something for everyone.

Keep in mind that some of these activities require advance registration or fees, so check the organizer's website before you attend. If you have something fun you'd like to share, please let us know and we'll consider it for next week's list!

  1. Vist the Santa Rosa Pumpkin Patch to pick the perfect pumpkin, take a hay ride, and brave the giant corn maze.
  2. Celebrate the Mid Autumn Moon Festival with an online song and storytime, Belvedere Tiburon Library.
  3. Sing and dance with family entertainer Megan Schoenbohm's live and interative music 7 days a week at 9 am.
  4. Join magician Mike Della Penna and friends for an online virtual magic and variety show. Monday, October 12, 6–6:30 pm.
  5. Make the house festive this Halloween with this recycled glass pumpkin votives craft.
  6. Make your reservation to play and learn outdoors at the the Bay Area Discovery Museum.
  7. Experience Chabot Science Center’s new virtual program, Live Science!, Wednesday, 10:30–11 am on Facebook Live.
  8. Get the kids in the kitchen to help make these Chinese-style pork buns from Chef Ari.
  9. Celebrate your cuddly pal with San Rafael Library's Teddy Bear BINGO via Zoom, Wednesday, October 14, 6:30 pm. Email/Register by 10/13, noon.
  10. Make a batch of candy corn popcorn balls with the kids for an easy-to-make fall treat.
  11. Stroll along the water on the Tiburon bike path.
  12. Visit the Pronzini Pumpkin Patch in Petaluma for fall family fun. Open daily.
  13. Check out one of our favorite Halloween movies for pick-up at your local Marin County library.
  14. Nicasio Valley Pumpkin Patch is back this fall season with fun for everyone in the family.
  15. The Lark Drive-in presents Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, Saturday, October 17, 7 pm.
