Fun Things to do in Marin & Bay Area this Week: March 28-April 3

Keep the kiddos busy! Here's our list of fun things to do with the kids for the week of March 28–April 3, 2022. We've broken it down day-by-day with suggestions for activities, outings, events, and more that you can use to help plan out your week.
Monday, March 28
- Enjoy a cup of tea and let the little ones (ages 2+) play at the Fox & Kit indoor playground in San Rafael, 8 am–5:30 pm.
- Explore the Japanese Tea Garden and experience the cherry blossoms in Golden Gate Park, daily, 9 am–5:45 pm.
- Get out the crayons or colored pencils and get creative with these free coloring sheets from the Children's Creativity Museum.
- Climb, explore, and get hands-on the Bay Area Discovey Museum in Sausalito, open all week for spring break, 9 am–4 pm. Reserve tickets here.
Tuesday, March 29
- Splash and swim indoors at family swim at the Mill Valley Community Center, Tuesday, 10:30–noon.

Bring the whole family as we enjoy storytime on the Novato Library back lawn, Tuesday, 11–11:30 am.
- Make a batch of our favorite snickerdoodle cookies.
Get hands-on at the Bay Area Discovery Museum open all week and next week for spring break.
Wednesday, March 30
- Visit the interactive Children's Creativity Museum in San Francisco for kids ages 2-12 and ride the 100+ year old carousel. Advance reservations here.
- Take a sweet tour with the kids at the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield, daily 9 am–5 pm.
- Spanish storytime is back at the San Anselmo Library (outside on the lawn), Wednesday, 11–11:30 am.
Thursday, March 31
- Shop for fresh produce at the Thursday's Marin Farmers Market, Marin Veteran's Memorial parking lot, 8 am–1 pm.
- Walk among the giant redwoods at Muir Woods National Monument in Mill Valley (reservations required), daily 8 am–6 pm.
- Swing, climb and picnic at the beautiful Marinwood Playground in San Rafael.
Get up close and personal with some historic cars at this weekend's Vintage Car Races at Sonoma Raceway.
Friday, April 1
- Take a spring wildflower hike on Ring Mountain in Tiburon. Don't forget your camera--the views are amazing.
- Join Iris for an outdoor storytime with books, songs and movement, Fairfax Library (outdoors), 10–10:45 am.
Saturday & Sunday, April 2 & 3
- Get up-close and personal with historic cars at the David Love Vintage Car Races at Sonoma Raceway, Saturday & Sunday, 8:30 am–5 pm.
- Hop on board the Easter Egg Express train ride, egg hunt, crafts and more..., Sacramento, Saturday & Sunday, 10 am and 1 pm.
- Explore the gardens at Cornerstone Sonoma and then head over to Sonoma Traintown Railroad.
- Celebrate the return of MakeArt Family Day at the Museum of Craft and Design in San Francisco, Saturday, 11 am–3 pm.
- Bring the kids to see Buki the Clown's Magical Comedy Show at Children's Fairyland in Oakland, Saturday & Sunday, 1:30 and 2:30 pm.
- Learn about birding in a guided walk at Rodeo Lagoon in the Marin Headlands (ages 8+), Sunday, 9:30 am
- Take a family walk with Marin Parks naturalists at the Bahia Trailhead, Sunday, 10 am–1 pm
- Get hands-on with art at Marin MoCA's Free Family Day (reservations required), Sunday, 11 am–3 pm
