Help the Nines Pack Back-to-School Boxes for Girls in Need

the Nines personalized boxes

Looking for a fun and rewarding volunteer opportunity? Help the Nines, a Bay Area 501(c)3 nonprofit, style and pack boxes for underprivileged girls in need. Boxes are for girls ages 12–20 and are curated based on a style guide that each young woman provides. Boxes feature school appropriate and special occasion clothing and accessories, beauty products, and other critically needed items.

The Nines is kicking off their back-to-school boxing cycle in San Francisco and volunteers are needed! Personalized gift boxes are provided to girls in San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area at participating charities like Boys and Girls Club, Compass Family Services, Raphael House, Hamilton Families. Tracy Family Resource Center, and more.

The 2022 Back-to-School Boxing Event takes place August 24–September 1 at 454 Shotwell Street, San Francisco 94110. Several different volunteer roles are available. Check their website for available dates and times and to sign up to help.

The Nines' mission is to boost confidence during the most formative years in girls’ lives. The Nines was built on the premise that every young girl deserves to receive functional, beautiful, and clean clothing that is curated specifically with her preferences in mind. With the Nines process, young women are empowered to take ownership of the way they present themselves to the world. Before receiving a box from the Nines, girls are asked to fill out a style questionnaire, which ensures every item will fit, suit their taste, and meet their specific needs. To date, the Nines has brought the magic of the perfect outfit to first days of school, birthday parties, school dances, and more.
