Keep the kiddos busy! Here's out list of fun things to do with the kids for the week of October 11–17. We've broken it down day-by-day with suggestions for activities, outings, events, and more that you can use to help plan out your week.
Keep in mind that some of these activities require advance registration, so check the organizer's website before you attend. If you have something fun you'd like to share, please let us know and we'll consider it for next week's list!
Monday, October 11
- Enjoy songs, rhymes, and a story with your little ones on the lawn next to the San Anselmo Library, 10:30 am.
- Make a taste of fall with delicious air-fried apple cider donuts.
- Join the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa for Museum Mondays for Little Ones, Monday, 10 am–noon.
- Drop-in for PlayLand Free Play Monday, MLK Gym, Sausalito, 10:30 am–noon. Pre-registration required.
Tuesday, October 12
- Make the house festive this Halloween with this recycled glass pumpkin votives craft.
- Take the kiddos to play and burn off some energy at Hal Brown Park at Creekside in Greenbrae. Bring a picnic too!
- Shop for fresh produce at this week's Novato Community Farmer's Market, Tuesday, 4–8 pm.
Explore the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park
Wednesday, October 13
- Visit Muelrath Ranches Pumpkin Patch near Santa Rosa for old fashioned fall fun for the family on a real working farm. Great for the littles. Open daily, 10 am–6 pm.
- Stroll through the amazing Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. Make sure to have some tea and cookies, too! Opens at 9 am.
- Bring your egg shakers & instruments to jam along with children's entertainer Megan Schoenbohm, Civic Center, San Rafael (next to the playground), 10:30–11 am.
- Join Vanessa of the Larkspur Library for live online storytime, Wednesdays & Fridays, 11:30 am.
Thursday, October 14
- Come to Copperfields Books at Marin Country Mart for a free outdoor storytime, Thursday, 11 am.
- Join the Happy Dahlia Farm in Petaluma for a kids' art lesson with illustrator Wendy E. Wright, Thursday, 2:30–3:30 pm.
- Check out some of our favorite Halloween books for kids at the library.
- Make a pot of delicious slow cooker chili.
Visti the animals and pick a pumpkin off the vine at Peter Pumpkin Patch in Petaluma.
Friday, October 15
- Join Iris for an outdoor family storytime with books, songs and movement, Fairfax Library outdoors, 10–11 am.
- Visit the Pronzini Pumpkin Patch in Petaluma for fall family fun. Open daily.
- Pick your own apples and stock up on fresh-pressed cider at Apple-a-Day Ratzlaff Ranch in Sebastopol, 9 am–4 pm every day, except Thursday & Saturday.
- Catch a free outdoor screening of Pixar's Finding Dory at Marin Country Mart, Friday, 6 pm.
Saturday & Sunday, October 16 & 17
- Get creative with Art in the Park at McNears Beach in San Rafael, Saturday, 10 am–noon.
- Find the perfect pumpkin off the vine at the Peter Pumpkin Patch in Petaluma, open weekends, 9 am–6 pm.
- Get your tickets for the Western Railway Museum's Pumpkin Patch Festival, Saturday & Sunday, 10 am–5 pm.
- Take the kiddos on a Spookomotive Train Ride in Old Sacramento. Saturday & Sundays, starting at 10 am.
- Choose the perfect pumpkin, play games, take a tractor ride, and more at Mickelson Pumpkin Patch in Petaluma. Open daily.
- Enjoy family-friendly animated shorts from around the world from the Mill Valley Film Festival at Rafael Film Center. Saturday, 1 pm.
