Taking place on the first full weekend of June every year, Western Weekend has been a time-honored community event since 1948 and offers fun for all ages with activities, delicious food, local vendors, an art show, a barn dance, and of course the main event: the Western Weekend Parade on Sunday.

Saturday Western Weekend Events

Western Weekend kicks off at on Saturday, June 6 in downtown Point Reyes Station with the "Wild West" Farmers Market at Toby's Feed Barn (9 am–2 pm), where you can shop local producers and artisans and then browse local galleries and shops.

In the evening, kick up your heels at the Barn Dance at the Dance Palace. Taking place from 6–9 pm, the Barn Dance is free and all ages are welcome! It features the presentation of the Grand Marshall and Junior Grand Marshall (6:30 pm) followed by line dancing to tunes by Ingrid Noyes and her band of fiddlers from 7 to 9 pm.

Sunday Western Weekend Events

The main event on Sunday, June 7 is the traditional Western Weekend Parade in downtown Point Reyes Station. The Food Corral, including the famous Farm Bureau Chicken BBQ, burgers, hot dogs, chili, Mexican food, and an oyster bar (this is West Marin, after all), opens at 11:30 am and the parade itself begins at noon and features decorated horses, tractors, festive floats, bagpipers, dancers, and more. The parade begins near 4th street and proceeds south through downtown on Highway 1.

Other Sunday offerings include a Nonprofit Corral highlighting local organizations (11:30 am–4 pm) and an Artists in the Schools reception at Gallery Route One (1:30–3:30 pm).
