Silhouette Artist Karl Johnson Returns to the Bay Area for Mother's Day!
Third-generation silhouette artist Karl Johnson is returning to the Bay Area to create hand cut silhouettes! Each unique work of art is cut freehand by this master scissor artist and takes just minutes. All ages are welcome (including the squirmy ones). Needless to say these priceless artworks would make fantastic Mother's Day gifts.
Karl's work has been featured in over 30 magazines including The O List in Oprah Magazine, People, and Elle Decor. He also has a large celebrity following and has created silhouettes for Reese Witherspoon, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Lopez, Tom Cruise, and many more.
Bay Area silhouette events take place May 6–10, 2025 at these venues:
- Tuesday, May 6: Mommy's Trading Post, Alameda
- Wednesday, May 7: Hicklebee's, San Jose
- Thursday, May 8: Mr. Mopps, Berkeley
- Friday, May 9: Bird & Bean, Berkeley
- Saturday, May 10: Cupcake, Santa Rosa
Original silhouettes cost $35 each, and advance registration is required at all locations. Make your appointment soon, as spots are filling up quickly! If you can't make any of Karl's Bay Area stops, he'll be holding a virtual silhouette event online on Sunday, May 18, from 9 am–4 pm.
