Here's our list of 15 fun things to do with the kids this week, April 12–18. From family hikes and fun craft projects to a visit to Fairyland and the drive-in movies, there's something for everyone.
Keep in mind that many of these activities require advance registration, so check the organizer's website before you attend. If you have something fun you'd like to share, please let us know and we'll consider it for next week's list!
- Springtime is a perfect time to take a family hike at Ring Mountain Open Space Preserve near Tiburon.
- Learn about Cal Academy's alibino alligator, Claude (on YouTube) and then make a cool Claude visor.
- Learn about ladybugs with online Pint-Size Storytime present by the San Rafael Public Library
- Make this easy and delicious almond cake with strawberries for a sweet spring treat.
- Check out the live cams at the San Diego Zoo.
- Drop-in for some outdoor Music Time with Megan, Wednesday–Friday at various locations throughout Marin.
- Take a trip to Children's Fairyland in Oakland. Rides are open now and puppet shows begin again on April 14. Wednesday–Sunday, 9 am–4 pm.
- Explore Novato's Pioneer Park, with its multiple playgrounds, rolling green lawns, picnic areas, and more.
- Get the kids in the kitchen to help make some delicous homemade bagels.
- Learn some magic tricks with Sajiv and the Marin County Library and amaze your friends and family! Friday, 6 pm
- Explore the trails, historic village, and beach at China Camp State Park in San Rafael. Open daily
- Get on your bikes and ride the pump track at Stafford Lake Bike Park in Novato.
- Enjoy the free online hip hop song & dance party with the Alphabet Rockers, Saturday, 11 am.
