Here's our list of 15 fun things to do with the kids this week, May 10–16. From fair food and a pop-up carnival to drive-in opera and a seaside campout, there's something for everyone.
Keep in mind that some of these activities require advance registration, so check the organizer's website before you attend. If you have something fun you'd like to share, please let us know and we'll consider it for next week's list!
- Picnic, climb, swing and play at Piper Park in Larkspur.
- Make a own silly putty with PBS Kids.
- Hit the trail at Indian Valley Open Space Preserve in Novato.
- Bonjour, it's time for storytime with Emilia! Join her for stories, songs, and rhymes in French on YouTube.
- Experience drive-in opera with SF Opera's The Barber of Seville live on stage at Marin Center. Tuesday, Friday & Saturday, 8 pm
- Visit the animals and ride the Little Puffer train at the San Francisco Zoo. Reserve your spot now.
- Shop for fresh produce at this week's Fairfax Community Farmers' Market, Wednesday, 4–8 pm.
- Bake a yummy chocolate chip skillet cookie.
- Check out the new exhibits at the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito. Wednesday–Sunday, 9 am–4 pm.
- Join Ms. Teresa of the Larkspur Library for live storytime, Wednesdays & Fridays, 11:30 am.
- Get your fair food fix with corn dogs, funnel cakes, kettle corn, and more at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma. Friday–Sunday, noon–8 pm
- Come to the Lark Drive-In at the Village at Corte Madera for a screening of The Princess Bride. Saturday, 8:40 pm.
- Go camping along the Pacific Ocean at Slide Ranch's family campout. Saturday, 2:30 pm–Sunday, 12:30 pm
- Hit the rides at Sonoma-Marin Fair's pop-up carnival at the fairgrounds in Petaluma. Thursday & Friday, 5 pm; Saturday & Sunday, noon
- Grab lunch at a food truck at the Marin Country Mart, Larkspur Landing, Sunday, 11 am–3 pm.
