Here's our weekly list of 15 fun things to do with the kids this week, July 27–August 2. From family hikes and live science projects to story times and cooking activities, there's something for everyone.

Keep in mind that some of these activities require advance registration, so check the organizer's website before you attend. If you have something fun you'd like to share, please let us know and we'll consider it for next week's list!

  1. If You Give a Pig a Pancake online storytime with the Oakland Zoo.
  2. Explore Novato's Mt. Burdell on a family hike.
  3. Bake along with Camp Teeny Cake! Order your activity box for pickup or delivery and follow along online.
  4. Make a batch of banana walnut chocolate chip muffins.
  5. Experience Chabot Science Center’s new virtual program, Live Science!, every Tuesday morning at 11 am on Facebook Live.
  6. Make an easy printable origami butterfly.
  7. Join storyteller Muriel Johnson for online fun for all ages, Wednesday, July 29, 1 pm
  8. Have a homemade pizza night!
  9. Join the Exploratorium for Storytime Science for Kids, the sun, Wednesday, 1 pm.
  10. Check out Royal Albert Hall's YouTube channel for opera, jazz, and classical music for kids from London.
  11. Follow along as Sophia Khan leads a fun and family-friendly introduction to yoga. Warm up, practice breathing and poses, and relax into a power down.
  12. Get fresh produce at one of the many Marin farmers markets happening this week.
  13. Join Mario the Maker Magician for his weekly magic party, Friday, July 31, 2 pm.
  14. Make your own hummus for an easy and healthy summer snack.
  15. Cool off at McNear's Beach Park in San Rafael.
