Keep the kiddos busy! Here's out list of fun things to do with the kids for the week of October 25–31. We've broken it down day-by-day with suggestions for activities, outings, events, and more that you can use to help plan out your week.
Keep in mind that some of these activities require advance registration, so check the organizer's website before you attend. If you have something fun you'd like to share, please let us know and we'll consider it for next week's list!
Monday, October 25
- Drop-in for open gym time at Gymworld in San Rafael for kids 5 and under, Monday–Friday, 10:30 am–12:30 pm.
- Take a fun and easy waterfall hike to Cascade Falls in Mill Valley.
- Make a pot of delicious slow cooker chicken tortilla soup.
- Make the house festive this Halloween with this recycled glass pumpkin votives craft.
Tuesday, October 26
- Have fun with the kiddos at a Jumping Jacks class at San Rafael Community Center. Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30 and 11 am.
- Check out some of our favorite Halloween books to read together at your local library.
- 3 deliciously spooky Halloween treats for the kids to create.
- Visit the Pronzini Pumpkin Patch in Petaluma for fall family fun. Open daily.
Bring the kiddos to the Goblin Jamboree this week at the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito. Wednesday–Sunday, Reservations required.
Wednesday, October 27
- Celebrate the spooky season at the Goblin Jamboree this week, Wednesday–Sunday, reservations required.
- Bring your egg shakers & instruments to jam along with children's entertainer Megan Schoenbohm, Civic Center, San Rafael (next to the playground), 10:30–11 am.
- Enjoy a fun fall day out at the new Grossi Family Farm Pumpkin Patch in Novato. Opens 10 am, Wednesday–Sunday.
- Join Vanessa of the Larkspur Library for live storytime, Wednesdays & Fridays, 11:30 am.
Thursday, October 28
- Shop for fresh produce at the Thursday's Marin Farmers Market, Marin Veteran's Memorial parking lot, 8 am–1 pm.
- Come to Copperfields Books at Marin Country Mart for a free outdoor storytime, Thursday, 11 am.
- Check out one of our favorite Halloween movies to check out at your local Marin County library.
- Get the kids in the kitchen to help make a batch of yummy fall pumpkin oatmeal cookies.
Friday, October 29
- Enjoy spooky fun and live music at Halloween at the Center in Mill Valley, Friday, 4–6 pm.
- Dine out under the lights in costume in downtown San Rafael, Friday, 5–9 pm.
- Trick or treat in downtown San Anselmo at the Goblins' SPOOKtacular, Friday, 5 pm.
- Catch a free screening of Pixar's Coco at Marin Country Mart, Friday, 6 pm.
- The Lark Drive-In screens the Halloween classic The Nightmare Before Christmas, Friday, 7 pm.
- Experience an evening of lights-out climbing and Halloween fun at Gravity Vault indoor gym, Friday, 7–9 pm.
Dress up your furry friend (and yourself) for a canine costume contest at Larson Family Winery in Sonoma. Sunday, noon–2 pm
Saturday & Sunday, October 30 & 31 (Halloween Weekend)
- Get a taste of life on the farm at Weekend Along the Farm Trails, Saturday & Sunday, 9 am–5 pm.
- Carve pumpkins with Marin Parks rangers at Paradise Beach in Tiburon. Saturday, 11 am–1 pm.
- Trick-or-treat so others can eat (food drive) and enjoy live Music with Megan at Bon Air Greenbrae, 11 am–2 pm.
- Head to the Farmers' Market at Marin Country Mart for a costume contest and more Halloween fun, 11 am–2 pm.
- Join the Unique Derique, Alphabet Rockers, Caterpillar Puppets, and other at YBC's 21st annual Halloween Hoopla, Saturday, noon–2 pm.
- Catch a Harry Potter double-feature for Halloween at the Lark Drive-In, Saturday, 7 pm.
- Join the Quest church in Novato for a Halloween trunk-or-treat with free hot dogs, a bounce house, and more, Sunday, 11 am–1 pm.
