15 Fun Activities to do With the Kids this Week, April 26–May 2

Here's our list of 15 fun things to do with the kids this week, April 26–May 2. From beaches to open space walks to baking a springtime treat, there's something for everyone.

Keep in mind that many of these activities require advance registration, so check the organizer's website before you attend. If you have something fun you'd like to share, please let us know and we'll consider it for next week's list!

  1. Explore the Presidio and Crissy Field in San Francisco.
  2. Get out for a family hike at the beautiful Mount Burdell Open Space Preserve in Novato.
  3. Make a batch of strawberry rhubarb crumble bars for a springtime treat.
  4. Take the kiddos to play and burn off some energy at Hal Brown Park at Creekside in Greenbrae.
  5. The Exploratorium's own Vivian Altmann reads Rosie Revere, Engineer by Andrea Beaty, Wednesday, 1 pm.
  6. Make your reservations for a day out at the San Francisco Zoo. Open daily, 10 am–5 pm.
  7. Join Ms. Teresa of the Larkspur Library for singalong and stories on Facebook Live. Wednesday & Fridays, 10:30 am.
  8. Explore Jack London's Beauty Ranch in the Wine Country.
  9. Children's author Oliver Chin highlights Dolly Gee’s advocacy for social justice in a reading of Awesome Asian Americans.
  10. Learn how to draw Linus live online with the Charles M. Schulz Museum. Thursday, 4 pm
  11. Enjoy an interactive musical/puppet show for all ages in celebration of Día de los Niños (Children’s day), Friday, 11 am. Register for details.
  12. Come to the Lark Drive-In at the Village at Corte Madera for a screening of The Muppets and Grease. Friday & Saturday, 8:20 pm.
  13. Drop in for pottery painting at Studio 4 Art's new San Rafael location. Saturday, 9 am–noon
  14. Make some art outdoors at Marin MOCA's Free Family Day, Sunday, 11 am–3 pm
  15. Go on a family outing for a picnic and walk along one of many Marin County beaches.
