Here's our list of 15 fun things to do with the kids this week, May 3–9. From drive-in opera and live kids music to all things Mother's Day, there's something for everyone.
Keep in mind that many of these activities require advance registration, so check the organizer's website before you attend. If you have something fun you'd like to share, please let us know and we'll consider it for next week's list!
- Picnic, climb, swing and play at Mill Valley's, Hauke Park.
- Learn about dogs with online Pint-Size Storytime present by the San Rafael Public Library.
- Create mom a unique and one of-a-kind mini herb garden.
- Play at the beach and take in the amazing views at Crissy Field in San Francisco.
- Shop for fresh produce at this week's opening night at the Novato Farmer's Market, Tuesday, 4–8 pm.
- Experience drive-in opera with SF Opera's The Barber of Seville live on stage at Marin Center. Tuesday, Friday & Saturday, 8 pm
- Check out the new exhibit opening to the public on 5/5 at the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito. Wednesday–Sunday, 9 am–4 pm.
- Drop-in for some outdoor Music Time with Megan, Wednesday–Friday at various locations throughout Marin.
- Get your fair food fix with corn dogs, funnel cakes, kettle corn, and more at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma. Friday–Sunday, noon–8 pm
- Shop for artisan crafts and food at the Petaluma Gap Marketplace. Saturday, 10 am–5 pm
- Come to the Lark Drive-In at the Village at Corte Madera for a screening of the classic movie The African Queen. Saturday, 8:30 pm.
- Make an classic pineapple upside down cake for Mother's Day.
- Take Mom out for brunch or make a batch of English-style scones for a proper afternoon tea.
- Pack a special lunch for a Mother's Day picnic in one of the many locations Marin.
- Enjoy a virtual Mother's Day celebration with Slide Ranch. See their new lambs frolicking in the pasture, get a glimpse of the ocean views & enjoy the sounds of nature. Sunday, 1:30–2 pm. Register here.
