Here's our weekly list of 15 fun things to do with the kids this week, September 28–October 4. From pumpkin patches and Halloween crafts to drive-in movies and virtual storytimes, there's something for everyone.

Keep in mind that some of these activities require advance registration or fees, so check the organizer's website before you attend. If you have something fun you'd like to share, please let us know and we'll consider it for next week's list!

  1. Find the perfect pumpkin off the vine at the Peter Pumpkin Patch in Petaluma, open daily, 9 am–5 pm.
  2. Sing songs and listen to stories with Toddler Storytime at the Belvedere Tiburon Library; new episodes on Mondays, YouTube.
  3. Join Magician Mike Della Penna and friends for an online virtual magic and variety show. Monday, October 5, 6–6:30 pm.
  4. Get the kids in the kitchen to help make a batch of yummy fall pumpkin oatmeal cookies.
  5. Get fresh produce at the Novato Farmers Market, Tuesday, October 6, 4–8 pm.
  6. Check out one of our favorite Halloween books for pick-up at your local Marin County library.
  7. Hike and explore history at Olompali State Historic Park in Novato.
  8. Join Ms. Teresa of the Larkspur Library for live storytime, Wednesdays & Fridays, 11:30 am.
  9. Make the house festive this Halloween with these easy-to-make paper jack-o-lanterns.
  10. Be mesmerized by a variety of graceful rays and tropical fish at the Cal Academy Reef Lagoon Cam.
  11. Watch a fantastic international family film from the Mill Valley Film Festival, starting Thursday, October 8.
  12. Make this classic Mexican meatball soup.
  13. Vist the Santa Rosa Pumpkin Patch to pick the perfect pumpkin, take a hay ride, and brave the giant corn maze.
  14. Explore a new mountain bike trail with the family.
