Keep the kiddos busy! Here's out list of fun things to do with the kids for the week of December 6–12. We've broken it down day-by-day with suggestions for activities, outings, events, and more that you can use to help plan out your week.
Keep in mind that some of these activities require advance registration, so check the organizer's website before you attend. If you have something fun you'd like to share, please let us know and we'll consider it for next week's list!
Monday, December 6
- Take the little ones to Museum Mondays at the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, Monday 10 am–noon
- Drop-in for open gym time at Gymworld in San Rafael for kids 5 and under, Monday–Friday, 10:30 am–12:30 pm.
- Keep the kiddos busy with this easy DIY Christmas playdough.
- Visit the Rombeiro Christmas House in Novato for a dose of holiday cheer, 6–10 pm.
Tuesday, December 7
- Enjoy free general admission for all at the de Young museum and Legion of Honor in San Francisco, Tuesday, 9:30 am–5:15 pm.
- Get in the holiday spirit and make a batch of delicious Pfeffernüsse cookies.
- Take the kiddos Ice skating at NorCal Ice at Northgate Mall, San Rafael, Tuesday, 2:30–8 pm.
- Make a pot of delicious and healthy minnestrone soup for dinner.
Experience Glowfari lantern festival at the Oakland Zoo.
Wednesday, December 8
- Join Librarian Lauren for Outdoor Story Time in Mill Valley's Old Mill Park, Wednesday, 10:15 am
- Experience iceless skating — all the fun of ice skating with no winter gear required — at the Bay Area Discovery Museum's reservations required.
- Decorate a gingerbread house at the Terra Linda Community Center, Wednesday, 3–5 pm.
- Visit the Oakland Zoo at night for Glowfari, open daily, 5:30–10 pm.
Thursday, December 9
- Shop for fresh produce at the Thursday's Marin Farmers Market, Marin Veteran's Memorial parking lot, 8 am–1 pm.
- Go swing, climb, play and picnic at Marinwood Park in San Rafael.
- Get hands on with STEM activities at the Lawrence Hall of Science at UC Berkeley, Thursday, 10 am–5 pm.
- Bring the family for Thursday Night Holiday Cheer (hot cider, children's crafts, holiday magic show) at the Marin Coutry Mart, Lakspur Landing, 4–7 pm.
San Francisco Ballet's Nutcracker opens this Friday at the War Memorial Opera House.
Friday, December 10
