Our go-to spot for family hikes and outdoor excursions in Marin is the Bear Valley Visitor Center at Point Reyes National Seashore. It's a wonderful place for kids and adults alike to learn about nature and local history and explore the outdoors. It has so much to offer: picnics, hikes, views, and wildlife.
A favorite dish in New Orleans Creole cuisine, red beans and rice doesn't take a lot of effort to make and everyone loves it. It's traditionally served on Mondays, and consists of red beans slowly simmered with vegetables and smoked meats like sausage and ham and served over rice. I like to make this on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon so we have plenty of leftovers for weekday meals.
Registration is now open for Marin's popular Slide Ranch Summer Day Camp, with sessions taking place from June 11 through August 17, 2018 at their spectacular seaside location in Muir Beach.
