15 Fun Things to do With the Kids the Week of July 6–12

Here's our weekly list of 15 fun things to do with the kids this week, July 6–12. From books and bike rides to live online music and farmer's markets, there is something for everyone.

Keep in mind that some of these activities require advance registration, so check the organizer's website before you attend. If you have something fun you'd like to share, please let us know and we'll consider it for next week's list!

  1. Explore a new mountain bike trail with the family.
  2. Make some sweet and delicious peach cobbler.
  3. Get hands-on creative crafts, outdoor activities, and eco-challenges with WildCare online.
  4. Sing songs, learn rhymes, and listen to stories online with Belvedere Tiburon Library's Alicia! Ages 2-3.
  5. Curl up with a great new kids' book.
  6. Get fresh produce at the Novato Farmers Market, Tuesday, July 7, 4–8 pm.
  7. Make a coffee filter butterfly craft with the Oakland Zoo.
  8. Get informed, engaged, and inspired with Stern Grove's free music programs for kids.
  9. Gather the family for the Rock and Roll Playhouse live on Facebook, weekdays at noon; Saturday, 1 pm; and Sunday, 11 am.
  10. Take the ferry to Angel Island for a day of hiking and exploring.
  11. Build your own bubbles and create your own DIY wands.
  12. Pick up some summer fair food at the Marin County Fair Food Drive-Thru, July 11–12, 11 am to 8 pm.
  13. Cool off with some delicious handcrafted ice cream at a local scoop shop.
  14. See Close Encounters of the Third Kind with North Bay Mobile Drive-In, Saturday, 9:15 pm
  15. Don't Stop Believin' with Broadway Under the Stars' virtual summer season. Donations appreciated.
