Keep the kiddos busy! Here's out list of fun things to do with the kids for the week of June 14–20. We've broken it down day-by-day with suggestions for activities, outings, events, and more that you can use to help plan out your week.
Keep in mind that some of these activities require advance registration, so check the organizer's website before you attend. If you have something fun you'd like to share, please let us know and we'll consider it for next week's list!
Monday, June 14
- Join a summer reading program at your local Marin County library.
- Go swing, climb and play at Marinwood Park in San Rafael.
- Make a batch of easy Baja fish tacos for dinner tonight!
Tuesday, June 15
- Take a train ride and visit the animals at Sonoma TrainTown, which re-opens on Tuesday! 10 am–4 pm
- Explore the restaurants and shops in San Francisco's Japantown.
- Take a trip up to Green String Farm in Petaluma for fresh organic produce and to visit the chickens and goats.
Wednesday, June 16
- See the movie Trolls World Tour for only $1.50 at Century Rowland Plaza or Northgate 15, 9:30 am
- Join us Wednesday mornings this summer for interactive musical entertainment for little ones with Megan Schoenbohm, Bon Air Center, Greenbrae, 11:30 am.
- Chill in the sun & play in the sand, Bay Area Discovery Museum's new beach. Wednesday–Sunday, 9 am–4 pm.
Thursday, June 17
- Enjoy outdoor story time on the Novato Library's back lawn. For ages 0–5, 10:30–11 am
- Create a magical metamorphosis (caterpillar to butterfly) craft with the Cal Academy.
- Get creative with Youth in Arts' Mobile Art Lab in San Rafael, 5:15–6:15 pm.
Friday, June 18
- Take the kids on one of these 8 awesome summer hikes for families in Marin.
- Take a family road trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Make sure to reserve your tickets in advance.
- Head to the Lark Drive-In at the Village at Corte Madera for a screening of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, 9 pm.
Saturday, June 19
- Come face-to-face with the often fearsome and always fascinating denizens of the deep in "Sharks", the new exhibit at San Francisco's California Academy of Sciences.
- Take dad on an excursion train ride in Old Sacramento this weekend.
- Find out why you Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco. Performances at 10 am and noon.
Sunday, June 20
- Make a sweet treat! Easy-to-make peach crumble.
- Spend Father's Day at the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, where all dads get in for free! 10 am–5 pm
- Vist Marin Country Mart in Larkspur for a farm-to-table Father's Day BBQ and live jazz! 11 am–7 pm
- Pack a picnic and head to a Marin County beach for a day of fun, sun, and sand this Father's Day.
