Keep the kiddos busy! Here's out list of fun things to do with the kids for the week of November 1–7. We've broken it down day-by-day with suggestions for activities, outings, events, and more that you can use to help plan out your week.
Keep in mind that some of these activities require advance registration, so check the organizer's website before you attend. If you have something fun you'd like to share, please let us know and we'll consider it for next week's list!
Monday, November 1
- Take an easy family waterfall hike to Cascade Falls in Mill Valley.
- Drop-in for open gym time at Gymworld in San Rafael for kids 5 and under, Monday–Friday, 10:30 am–12:30 pm.
- Craft these cool pumpkin skull candle holders for Dia de los Muertos.
- Learn how marine mammals hunt and feed at the online Marine Science Monday. Monday, 4 pm
Tuesday, November 2
- Have fun with the kiddos at a Jumping Jacks class at San Rafael Community Center. Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30 and 11 am.
- Get a head start on the holidays with these fun and easy salt dough handprint ornaments.
- Enjoy free general admission for all at the de Young museum and Legion of Honor in San Francisco, Tuesday, 9:30 am–5:15 pm.
- Make a pot of healthy slow-cooker white bean soup with ham.
Take the kiddos ice skating at Union Square Ice Rink opening on Wednesday, November 3.
Wednesday, November 3
- Register for free admission day at the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito.
- Bake a yummy chocolate chip skillet cookie.
- Go skating at the Union Square Ice Rink in San Francisco. Opens for the season Wednesday, 9:30 am.
- Learn about Día de los Muertos traditions and make Day of the Dead-inspired art in Old Mill Park, Wednesday, 2:30 pm
Thursday, November 4
- Shop for fresh produce at the Thursday's Marin Farmers Market, Marin Veteran's Memorial parking lot, 8 am–1 pm.
- Visit Monterey Bay Aquarium's cool sea otter cam with live narrated feedings daily at 1:30 pm.
- Gather on the big log in front of Copperfield's in Marin Country Mart for storytime, Thursday, 11 am.
- Vist the 20,000 marine animals at San Francisco's Aquarium of the Bay at Pier 39.
Swing, climb and play at the airplane themed South Hamilton Park in Novato
Friday, November 5
- Drop in to Playland in Sausalito for bounce house free play. Friday, 9 and 10:30 am.
- Swing, climb and play at awesome South Hamilton Park in Novato.
- Make a fresh batch of delicious gluten-free blueberry oatmeal breakfast muffins.
- Sing along children's entertainer Megan Schoenbohm at Boyle Park, Mill Valley, 9:30 am.
- Join Marin City Library for an online event with author/illustrator Jessica Love, Friday, 2–3 pm
Saturday & Sunday, November 6 & 7
- Get a head start on the holidays at West End Nursery's Christmas House in San Rafael, opening for the season on Saturday at 9 am
- Enjoy live music, a grape stomp, and more at the Novato Harvest Festival, Saturday, 12:30–6 pm
- Celebrate Day of the Dead in San Rafael, Saturday, 3–9 pm
- Get hands-on with art at MarinMOCA's Free Family Day, Sunday, 11 am–3 pm
