15 Fun Activities to do With the Kids this Week, March 29–April 4

Go on an Easter scavenger hunt at one of the many Novato parks.

Here's our list of 15 fun things to do with the kids this week, March 29–April 4. From Easter egg dying and spring "egg-stravaganzas" to family hikes and drive-in movies, there's something for everyone.

Keep in mind that many of these activities require advance registration, so check the organizer's website before you attend. If you have something fun you'd like to share, please let us know and we'll consider it for next week's list!

  1. Easter is this Sunday! Color your Easter eggs with homemade natural dyes.
  2. Learn about rabbits with online Pint-Size Storytime present by the San Rafael Public Library.
  3. Make these classic coconut mini cupcakes.
  4. Go on an Easter egg scavenger hunt at one of the many Novato Parks and left some colorful painted rocks "eggs" ready to be found between March 28 - April 4.
  5. Springtime is a perfect time to take a family hike at Ring Mountain Open Space Preserve near Tiburon.
  6. Get creative fun and easy Easter egg wreath paper craft to decorate your home.
  7. Run, swing and play at one of our 5 favorite playgrounds in Marin.
  8. Join the Exploratorium for Storytime Science for Kids, The Doorbell Rang, Wednesday, 1 pm.
  9. Drop-in for some outdoor Music Time with Megan, Wednesday–Friday at various locations throughout Marin.
  10. Learn how to draw Knuffle Bunny with author and illustrator Mo Willems.
  11. Get organic strawberries at the Thursday farmers market and make strawberry shortcakes.
  12. Come to the Lark Drive-In at the Village at Corte Madera for screenings of Wall-E (Friday) and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (Saturday), 7:30 pm.
  13. Las Gallinas Lions drive thru Easter Egg-Stravaganza at Mary E. Silveira Elementary School, Saturday, 10 am–noon.
  14. Take a photo with the Easter Bunny at Bon Air Center in Greenbrae, Saturday, 11 am–2 pm.
  15. Visit the animals and hike at Tolay Lake Regional Park in Petaluma.
