15 Fun Activities to do With the Kids this Week, November 30–December 6

Here's our weekly list of 15 fun things to do with the kids this week, November 30–December 6. From Christmas tree farms and a Broadway holiday spectacular to socially distanced Santa visits and a virtual tree lighting, there's something for everyone.

Keep in mind that many of these activities require advance registration or fees, so check the organizer's website before you attend. If you have something fun you'd like to share, please let us know and we'll consider it for next week's list!

  1. Sing songs, learn rhymes, and stories with Alicia from the Belvedere Tiburon Library, new stories on Monday.
  2. Make a batch of healthy slow-cooker white bean and ham soup.
  3. Marvel at the incredible lanterns at Oakland Zoo's Glowfari, nightly, 5:30–10 pm.
  4. Get started on baking with these fun and delicious Pfeffernüsse holiday cookies.
  5. Attend a virtual book reading with children's author & illustrator Cobzi A. Cabrera. Wednesday, December 2, 2–3 pm.
  6. Take a family hike at the Tomales Bay Trail in Point Reyes.
  7. Cut down the perfect Christmas tree at a local tree farm.
  8. Celebrate the Holidays in Victorian Style with the Dickens Fair at Home; new content every weekend!
  9. Experience Broadway holiday magic with Transcendence Theater Company's drive-in events. Friday and Saturday, December 4 and 5.
  10. Take socially distanced photos with Santa (and send him a letter with your Christmas list) at Bon Air Center in Greenbrae.
  11. Deck the Hall with the San Francisco Symphony on NBC Bay Area, Saturday, December 5, 3:30 pm.
  12. Sensitive Santa arrives in San Rafael to meet children with disabilities and their siblings. Saturday, December 5, 2–5 pm.
  13. Watch Novato's annual tree lighting and watch for Santa as he makes his way through the neighborhoods. Saturday, December 5, 5:30–8 pm.
  14. Get creative at Marin MOCA on their Free Family Day. Sunday, December 6, 11 am–3 pm
  15. Visit Santa in his workshop at Cavallo Point in Sausalito. Sunday, December 6, 3–5 pm
