Keep the kiddos busy! Here's out list of fun things to do with the kids for the week of June 21–27. We've broken it down day-by-day with suggestions for activities, outings, events, and more that you can use to help plan out your week.
Keep in mind that some of these activities require advance registration, so check the organizer's website before you attend. If you have something fun you'd like to share, please let us know and we'll consider it for next week's list!
Monday, June 21
- Join Mr. Matt on a storytelling journey using shadow puppets, virtual at Belvedere Tiburon Library (all day).
- Ride the train, carousel and visit the animal barn at Howarth Park, Santa Rosa (reservations required).
- Children's Fairyland presents Flora and Fauna, an online series that gets kids age 4 to 8 outside and into nature!
- Make a batch of healthy and delicious fresh and healthy summer garden chili.
Tuesday, June 22
- Visit Musée Mécanique at Pier 45 and check out their collection of antique coin-operated arcade machines. Open daily 10 am–8 pm
- Make your reservation to swim and splash at the Hamilton Community Pool in Novato.
- Make a batch of homemade hummus to snack on.
- Shop for fresh produce, picnic and enjoy the live music at Tuesday's Sonoma Farmers Market, Sonoma Plaza, 5–8 pm.
Wednesday, June 23
- See the movie The Secret Life of Pets 2 for only $1.50 at Century Rowland Plaza or Northgate 15, 9:30 am.
- Drop-in for some outdoor Music Time with Megan, Wednesday–Friday at various locations throughout Marin (see schedule on Facebook)
- Join the Larkspur Library with an online event, Puppet Art Theater for The Three Little Pigs, Wednesday, 4–5 pm.
- Chill in the sun and play in the sand, Bay Area Discovery Museum's new beach. Wednesday–Sunday, 9 am–4 pm.
Thursday, June 24
- Get your home ready for Independence Day with this easy-to-make patriotic wind sock.
- Enjoy outdoor story time on the Novato Library's back lawn. For ages 0–5, 10:30–11 am
- Swim in the mineral spring pool at Morton's Warm Springs Resort in Glen Ellen. Open Tuesday–Sunday; advance reservations required.
- Dine out with the family and enjoy a meal under the lights downtown San Rafael, Thursdays & Fridays, 5–9 pm.
- Escape to Tahoe and ride bikes along the lake or the Truckee River.
Friday, June 25
- Carousel or train ride at Tilden Park in Berkeley.
- Visit Marin Country Mart in Larkspur for Movie Nights at the Mart: Babe, 6 pm.
- Drive-thru the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma to get your fair food favorites.
- Enjoy al-fresco dining, curbside shopping and a fun space for families at Slow Streets, Downtown Tiburon, Friday afternoons to Sunday evenings.
- Head to the Lark Drive-In at the Village at Corte Madera for a screening of The LEGO Movie. 9 pm
Saturday, June 26
- Pick your own organic blueberries at Duckworth Family Farm in Sebastopol. Advance registration required.
- Visit the Marin Country Mart Farmer's Market for great local foods and produce as well as free live kids' entertainment at 9:30 am. 9 am–2 pm
- Use your u-pick blueberries from the farm to make this easy and delicious blueberry buttermilk breakfast bread.
- Shop for arts and crafts and enjoy live music and kids' activities at the Novato Art Stroll, Saturday and Sunday, 11 am–6 pm.
- Hike or bike along the Hamilton Wetlands path in Novato
Sunday, June 27
- Celebrate the 51st anniversary of the Morgan Horse Ranch at Point Reyes National Seashore, 10 am.
- Splash and swim along the shore of Hearts Desire Beach in Point Reyes.
- Make your own easy homemade ice cream in a jar.
- Go for a scenic family wetlands hike and play a round of minature golf at McInnis Park (reservations are required for golf).
